Floorcoverings will perform at their best with proper care and attention. An effective maintenance programme that follows the basic rules of care and cleaning will greatly prolong the life of your floorcovering investment.An effective maintenance plan needs careful supervision, trained personnel and the correct equipment.

These considerations should be part of the planned programme.

The procedures outlined in this chart could damage carpet that is not made from Stainproof Miracle Fibre, Stainproof SDX  or PSDN™. Before trying these cleaning methods on any carpet, please ensure that it is genuine Stainproof Miracle Fibre, Stainproof SDX  or PSDN™ carpet from Irvine International Floors.

Removal method

for Stainproof Miracle Fibre, Stainproof SDX and PSDN™ carpets

1. Bleach and Water

  • Mix a solution of 50% clear household bleach and 50% water in a spray bottle.
  • Note: Use only clear, pure household bleach containing no additives. Perfumed bleach can be used.
  • Remove as much of the stain as possible by blotting or scraping up.
  • Spray the solution directly onto the carpet. DO NOT OVER-WET
  • Blot carpet surface, working from the outside of the stain to the centre. Repeat until the stain disappears.
  • Spray with clean water and blot until all bleach is removed.
  • To absorb any remaining moisture, use folded white paper towels weighted down with a heavy non-staining object.
  • When completely dry, vacuum to restore pile texture.

2. Pure Acetone (available at pharmacies)

  • Remove as much of the stain as possible by blotting or scraping up.
  • Apply a small amount of pure acetone to the white cloth and work in gently. DO NOT OVER-WET.
  • Blot carpet surface, working from the outside of the stain to the centre. Repeat until the stain disappears.
  • To absorb any remaining moisture, use folded white paper towels weighted down with a heavy non-staining object.
  • When completely dry, vacuum to restore pile texture.
